The applicant has to take following action to apply for re-issue of fresh passport booklet due to change in surname after marriage:

i) Online application form is available on our website: http://passport.gov.in/nri.

ii) Certified copy of visa/work permit of the applicant and her spouse.

iii) Self-attested copies of the spouse's passport.

iv) Attested copy of copy of marriage certificate by the State Government concerned as well as by MEA, Patiala House, New Delhi OR an Affidavit (jointly signed). Also joint marriage photograph should be affixed on the affidavit.

v) Fee of Rand 1225/- (including ICWF Fee of Rand 25.00) is charged for re-issue of fresh booklet of 36-page passport and Rand 1625/- (including ICWF Fee of Rand 25.00) for 60-page passport.

vii) Payment can be made by cash or EFT. Details of the same are available on website www.vfsglobal.com. Please note original proof of payment is required and photocopy, faxed copy or scanned copy is not acceptable.

viii) Proof of Residential address in South Africa

ix) Any other document as specified by the Consular Officer

PROCESSING TIME: ONE MONTH (Provided all necessary documents are submitted with the application and security status is clear)

Timing for submission of application: 09:00 to 14:30hrs. (At VFS Global Centre)

Timing for collection of services: 15:00 to 16:00 hrs. (At VFS Global Centre)
